Finally picked up the Yakima Overhaul Rack & Retrax Pro Tonneau locking cover with the black Friday discounts.

The locking cover gives the option of loading up my gear a day before going out early on a big job, and the lock gives me peace of mind it will all be there in the morning.

Truck still looks sporty ~ the black rack is a nice upgrade from the silver Thule rack I had one my 2012 Gen 2. 😊🛻😊

PS - WARNING ‼

with the Retrax Pro Tonneau Cover the Tacoma OEM rail tie down anchors no longer fit . . . so . . . I guess I’m going with the Charvonia ones next time they go on a sale !

Im looking at it, trying to figure out how the tonneau opens? Doesnt look like a trifold. Does the whole thing pivot up?

Im looking for racks exactly like that, which will fit the OEM trifold tonneau

Think roll-top desk…. Top rolls up inside towards the cab.

Looks really good:thumbsup:

Where did you order from?
The heavy rains have come and since I broke my collarbone I had it installed at the truck store here in NorCal, called CAMPWAY

it worked great this weekend for work 👍🏼

Other than needing to change the anchors, are the bed rails still useable for low-profile accessories that fit under the cover? Sorry to have not asked this in my earlier inquiry, but didn't think of it at the time.

@nurp42 -yes, I suspect they are… It's just that The Toyota bed anchors have to be put in sideways and then turned horizontal to lock down… And when you try to put them sideways, they conflict with the Tonneau ... I'm planning on getting bed anchors that don't install that way 👍🏼

Thanks again for the info---- was curious if something was free to move along rail without obstacles blocking travel and evidently that's the case as the problem w/ OEM tie-downs was due to attachment rather than movement.

Its basically a garage door flipped on one end with a canister, the Pro is the best one out there for retractables. RealTruck is the main supplier and one of their brands. I looked into it and went a different route with a hard roll up, also from RealTruck.

Did you have a specific reason to go w/ roll-up vs retractable? Can the one you got be used together w/ the bed rack?

personally I kinda liked the way it operated, and it was also $1k cheaper in Canada. You also don't lose that space by the cab that the canister takes up. And not seeing that there would be too many issues with the roll up as it's quite simple in design. The retractable concerns would be the actual mechanism as well as debris getting into the canister from its roll in entry point. However it does have a lifetime from RealTruck, so theres that.

Thanks for the follow-up. The primary feature that I'm looking for is being able to use it w/ the bed rack like the OP has done. While there do seem to be some disadvantages of the retractable cover, if other options don't allow for rack integration, it wouldn't be a good fit for my purposes.
