Bed Cap availability?

This is probably an unanswerable or dumb question, but how long after a new truck model is released do manufacturers offer new caps? I know manufacturers in other industries offer mock-ups to accessory manufacturers so they can have accessories ready close to release time. Again, probably a dumb question; but wondering if anyone’s paid attention to this type of thing before?

Have a black TRD OR with a 6’ bed coming. Looks SO much better with a cap in my opinion.

I've been looking as well. It shouldn't take them long. Tacoma is a popular truck

I contacted ARE last week and the V Series truck cap is in the test fit stage. It could be available sometime this spring.

In Canada we have Bison tonneau cover that are already available for the 2024:

The one listed on this website is the BakFlip and it states it will fit up to a 2023 model. I had an online dealer tell me it would fit but BakFlip needs to change their description to a 2024 before i would buy.

Bison does not have one for a 24 Tacoma yet. I personally went to their location in Brampton and they tried with no success.

My ARE V Series truck cap arrived a couple of weeks ago. I added the Front Runner cap rack instead of ordering the Yakima racks with the cap. I saved about $400 by getting my own cap rack, and I can upgrade to a full rack/basket later If I want.

Nice rig! I assume that is a fibreglass cap? How does the price compare to for example the Smartcap (Stainless steel).
I can’t find the ARE price on their website, but the Smartcap is about 10% the price of the entire truck

I thought I read somewhere there was a way to switch the rear view mirror camera with a different one. Anyone looked into that for bed caps?

Yes, I'm actually a tester for that and have the wiring installed. I just need to get the cameras mounted. I'll do that this weekend and post some pictures of the completed items.
