Thanks. I have the service activated and can do everything except download a Digital Key. That is what made me suspect that my trim line may not support it.
I will say, I had to call Toyota (1-800-331-4331) and had them re-initialize the digital key process. Maybe that'll work for you.

TRD off road premium. So yeah, I can't speak to the "non premium" (even though they are all awesome) but given that it all runs through the infotainment system and the fob, I'd imagine it'd work on all trims. With mine, the dealer had set it up with some bogus phone number so they had to re link it to my number

There are laws at the Federal and State level preventing the manufactuers from selling your info without your consent.

Agreed. Here's my take (and I don't mean to insult anyone else's perspective). The way I see it, basically every app on your phone is using your info in one way or another. Yes you can opt out of things but at that point it becomes harder to make sure you are opted out than just enjoying the things you have. For me, the decision is always, do I want to use this feature, yes or no. If yes, then I just accept the pitfalls that come with it. Yes, you might get insurance tracking info to big companies or things like that, but if you're not doing anything wrong, what's the big deal. Again, just my two cents (coming from someone that works in software) and this is in no way an attempt to convince anyone to use or not use digital key or any other technology.

Absolutely. I used the Lexus version and only stopped using it because I got tire of paying. At this point in the game you can only try to be selective about what you share and that gets harder by the day.

I don’t pay for subscribing to a vehicle I own. So no subscriptions for me when I get it.
I may not even try the free trials.

My 2012 Ram had remote start and no subscription 😂. Is there still aftermarket remote starts like we had back in the day?

I will allow Toyota to pay me to test features if they want, on a monthly subscription.

Your fob can remote start the Taco. Click the lock button twice then hold on the third click.

i do understand that, but will it be subscription too after 3 years or is it good forever like the old trucks? Sorry I do not have my truck yet, dealer tells me August.

Any idea of the range on the Fob remote start and is it a 2-way so you can tell if it started?

With the fob is pretty much line of sight. The lights on the truck blink when it starts up.

ok. So nothing on the fob to let you know it started.

think I read the range was pretty small. Like 50 feet. If that’s the case I will be going aftermarket when the app trial runs out.
