My current truck is an Xtracab with a 6’ bed and it’s my preferred configuration. The problem is, the model is always a basic trim. I will probably bite the bullet and get a double cab with a 6’ bed that won’t fit in my garage. (I want an off road) The 5’ bed is useless to me.

I’m just about positive that is cooling vents for the hybrid battery on the side. If there is something under the seat, I didn’t notice that on the truck I saw.

It was the same at the Detroit Auto Show. They had a couple reps, but they didn’t know anything about the Tacoma Off Rosd that was on display.

I feel your pain. Nissan played it the opposite way. They offer the Frontier King cab in pro4X trim in Canada but not the US.

I’m the same way. The long bed barely fits in my garage but I find a 5’ bed just this side of useless. I’m my dream world they would offer a Trail Hunter Xtracab. I don’t need a back seat. (And I don’t want a stripped down SR)

All the more reason to make a pro in an Xtracab. Those front seats are making the back seat worthless anyway.

That’s such a bummer that you pay for premium and then have to spend more money to get rid of the cheap looking chrome. GMC does the same thing. 😟
