If the Prerunner had a 6MT option and was about $2k less, I'd be all over it. I'm in a 2 door Bronco with no rear seats installed now, so........the 2 door option is perfect. 2wd isn't ideal, but the rear locker helps, and I'm on the east coast mostly doing gravel roads and sand anyways.
It's...
Transition Spur, I'm using a 1up rack on my Bronco right now, works well. Prerunner maybe in 2028 or so, give the Bronco a few years and some more miles probably.

Mine was a '93 4x4, single cab, 5 peed manual. Then I went to Jeeps, and now a Bronco, love the Bronco (2 door, Green), I'd love for the Tacoma to expand the manual to the Prerunner, and add an Army Green. I'm kinda over the hardcore 4 wheeling, most anything I need to get to is on a gravel...
This right here......I'd probably move on from my Bronco to a Prerunner if it had manual transmission as an option and coil springs. I don't need 4 doors either (I have a 2 door Bronco now).
They (and this is all vehicle manf's) have basically said well let's turn the truck into an SUV/minivan...
I was kinda waiting on colors too......but I"m between Solar Orange, Black and Underground, so sounds like if I want Solar Orange, this is the year. I'd love Citadel or Voodoo Blue, or Cement, so I may just wait until it's been out 3 or 4 years.
Yeah, I had a JK and JL between the '93 Toyota and my Bronco now, that's basically all the vehicles I've owned in the past 25 years. I'm done with Jeep, they have issues for sure, and are just basically uncomfortable, especially compared to the new Bronco.
I will say, the new Bronco (2 door in...
I'm debating going back to a Toyota truck ('93 Pickup I4 was the last one), and I currently have a 2 door Bronco with vinyl seats/washout flooring. I've had Jeeps before that, I'm at the beach a ton surfing, kiteboarding, etc. The benefit to the truck is all the gear would be in the back, the...
Nice, this is good info. I actually really like the Bronco manual over the JK/JL (especially the JL).
The way I'm looking at it........I can get it roughly for let's say $38k out the door:
New 2024 Toyota Tacoma R01794 | Toyota Dealership in North Charleston, SC...
Yeah, I realized that once I dove into a bit more. I have Bilstein on my current Bronco, it's a nice ride on and off road. I'll go test drive them......but considering there's basically no stock TRD ORD's it's going to price me into a SR, a Frontier Pro-4x, or keeping what I've got, it's paid...
I'm debating (and I need to go test drive a 3rd gen and 4th gen Tacoma first) between a Tacoma, Frontier Pro4x, and keeping my 2 door Bronco.
I got a pretty good deal on the Bronco (reserved at the beginning, got all the rebates), so basically I can still sell now with 18k miles and only lose...
I'm debating the same switch but for different reasons....I have a 2 door 2023 Badlands, I roll with the hard top most of the year and a bimini top in the summer (full, not mesh). It's parked in the garage when I'm not out so getting caught in rain is somewhat minimal.
I love the 7 spd manual...
Yeah, so the last 2 vehicles I've bought I paid 7% below invoice (Jeep Wrangler - volume dealer) and invoice without dealer fees (reserved Ford Bronco from small dealer that I waited 2.5 years for). I'm debating going back to a Toyota truck (last one was a '93), are there dealers that don't add...
Yeah, Transition Spur here.......I'm tempted, but being able to take the top/doors off, and washout interior helps a lot. I can fit my bike with the front wheel off pretty easily in the back. The 6mt in the Tacoma helps.....I really like the manual in the Bronco with the 2.3L Turbo, I'm guessing...
I'm a MTB'er too, and surfer, kiteboarder, etc. I bought a 2 door Ford Bronco a year ago, I like it, and I pulled the back seats out for storage, but..debating a Tacoma again. It's been 20 years since I've had a truck ('93 Toyota Pickup 22RE, manual). The ease of just putting it on a tailgate...
