Nice review. Looks like a quality product.
For those of us that run a larger tire ...the gap between the fender flare and the flap it's self is an issue. I have been waiting for a set from RekGen but they seem to be slow to release the 4th gen flaps. Rally Armour and RokBlok are other options...
I took my 4th gen out into the wild this past week for it's first off road adventure. Was a learning curve for sure. I smelled clutch a couple of times until I (As TacoFreak mentions) started to abruptly engage the clutch keeping the rpm higher. I was rock crawling in most instances and found...
Just the sign of a well waxed/sealed vehicle. Want to prevent it? Put an ugly ass bug defector on it and that will solve your problem. Me? I'd rather just turn my wipers on.
I'm sure an aftermarket solution would be
1...less expensive and
2...provide superior protection.
Until I see a quality option I'll keep her off the gravel for now.
What one has to remember is that the majority of YouTubers are journalists (Like TFL idiots) that have zero mechanical background or inclination.
As mentioned before some have preconceived notions before they evaluate a vehicle regardless of the brand.
I can only say the following...I drove...
I find sales people are not "car people"
The LT's on my 4Runner have a max pressure 48psi and I wouldn't dream of running them that high...let alone the p rated slicks that come on a stock Tacoma.
