Got an email from the GM that they would be able to, but I decided to stop with their games and this whole truck market.
Ended up keeping my 22 honda for a daily and purchasing an 07 tundra SR5 4wd with the 5.7l v8 for a dedicated tow rig. Best of both worlds and cheaper for me to own both...
Went to my local dealership in Vancouver, WA and they refused to take a deposit. Had $1,000 ready to go but nope. They told me that numbers would be "extremely limited" which is a full on lie based on production volume of ~ 240k vehicles each year for the past 5 years despite the pandemic. I...
the black looks amazing.
Currently Bronze Oxide is my #1 followed by Underground, then black and celestial silver metallic. To be honest I would be happy with any of these colors in a TRD off-road with my options, but I think black would be the worst for dirt; and the hardest to keep clean.
Digging into google trying to find anything related to this color and all I can find is from Art Director Alec Chelines' website with some social media advertisements including this one. If youlook closely on the bottom it says "in custom color not available from the factory."...
Landcruiser is enticing.
Center locking diff + rear locking diff
front sway bar disconnect
interior looks much more refined than the tacoma
made at the Tahara plant in Japan (Known for the 4runner, celica and lexus GS/LS/GX)
2.4l Hybrid only matches the towing capacity of the hybrid tacomas...
I think these photos answered a bunch of my questions about the TRD OR.
Would it come in Bronze oxide?
Would it be allowed to have no rear window peep hole?
Could I still upgrade the center screen and speaker package?
Would I be able to have the trailering package added (solar octane TRD OR...
2023 tacoma doesn't offer a off-road package or anything that has a rear locker; so I don't think Toyota is going to do that on the 2024 SR or SR5 either; with the pre-runner being the exception.
I think Toyota will reason if you want a locking diff + 4wd, or a sway bar disconnect then you...
You're 100% correct here. Comparing the wheels you can see it has the SR5 17" alloys on it. So we can probably assume both the SR5 and SR has the normal rear glass; without the hole in it. Can't wait to see what options the SR5 can be spec'd with! This makes me more hopeful to have an SR5 double...
If we could get a bare-bones SR5 4x4 without that little rear window I think that would be the ticket! Especially if we could find one with a trailer package or possible sway-bar disconnect. I'm itching for a configurator!
These photos really make the rear window stand out, and I do not like it. Far too small, I would have rather a larger manual slide/lock like the older pickups. Sadly I don't think any models come without it.
Agreed, the power tail-gate is a lame feature. I would much rather my tail-lights not have some expensive push button technology in them that increases replacement costs.
Totally agree that the general buyer would rather the leg room/storage than the rear down-sliding glass. Also, this horizontal slide is both a compromise and homage to the original toyota pickups lets not forget.
So the new Tacoma does have the option for a 6-speed manual in the non hybrid versions of the truck; and also does have locking rear diff, with the limited having a locking center diff. I see what you mean by wanting a rear window that rolls down; that would have been a prime feature that I...
I really wish Toyota would put out the configurator and more information on the TRD OR. I would like to be able to get the larger 14" screen; sway bar disconnect, trailer control and rear locker without having to get some of the upgraded options I don't need or want; like the roof and bed rack...
One thing I learned from this article was that trucks are tested to a higher standard than the commuter cars:
Knowing the truck engines and turbos were tested to withstand 33% more life cycle and duty over say the same engine that came in the lexus NX or toyota crown hybrid; just assures me...
My point of view, if they're willing to put this in the Lexus NX/RX, the Toyota highlander & Grand Highlander, the flagship Crown crossover turbo hybrid AND the Tacoma... and possibly (most likely) the 4runner too we're most likely looking at a very good motor choice. Looking at the design of...
