Whatever you’re experiencing I was experiencing myself. After about 3K miles the hard shifts smooth out. I used to hear the same strange rattle. As for the 3rd gear when putting the truck in sport, it did it for me too. Im guessing that’s how it is programmed. I did trade my Tacoma for for a 24...
Timing is definitely off on this transmission shifting thing. I’ve noticed where the rpm needle goes down and about a second later is when the transmission actually shifts.
This is unreal for a car manufacturer that supposedly do extensive tests and tests. I understand one or two transmissions can go bad but this is not cool. If they did extensive test then I’m sure their test transmissions went bad or if they did not go bad then some components at the end were...
Not sure how true this is, as I ave experienced the clunk when putting it on reverse after I get from from work and reverse without the emergency break being activated/deactivated
No warnings on the dashboard at all. I’ve not don’t anything to correct it I’m just letting it be and hope for the best. I did however, installed a TRD Air filer and call me crazy but I think the extra air is making it shift quicker from a stop. My brother works at the service department for...
wow, we're having the same experience. I also did not notice the truck being like that at the beginning. I have about 3200 miles on it now. I also have the occasional clunk while shifting into reverse. I really hope this is a learning process for the transmission.
nice looking truck and I’m thinking about these tires set up for myself, but debating between 265/65/18, 275/65/18 or the 285/65/18. I want the aggressive looks but as close to stock as possible.
As for the transmission, I feel that from a dead stop the transmission doesn’t shift quick enough...
I would say there are days where it’s smooth and some where it’s not. But definitely a bit letter than at the beginning, which makes me believe it’s a software issue because in about 2-3 occasions I seen the rpm gauge goes down as if the truck is shifting, but in about 1-2 second later is when...
Did the dealer say it’s a transmission issue nationwide? I wonder how many Tacomas are seating at the dealer waiting for their transmission to be fixed or replaced.
Seriously how can so many trucks have transmission issues if they did “extensive tests”?
I think I know what you're referring to. I also hear the rattling. It sounds as if the grill is vibrating and making that sound, but once it pick ups speed it goes away.
