AGREED, ALL THEY NEED TO DO IS PUT THE 2.5 na HYBRID SYSTEM FROM THE GRAND HYLANDER AND THEY WOULD PROBABLY BE AT 30MPG. I DONT NEED THE EXTRA POWER BUT I DO NEED A 6 FT BED. THE mAAVERICK BED DOESNT HOLD MUCH.
The 245 hp 2.5 liter AWD hybrid in the grand highlander gets 34 mpg. Some of us don't need "MAX" power and torque. They should offer this as an option in the Tacoma. It doesn't make sense to trade our full size V8 Ram for the hybrid Tacoma if it only gets slightly better mileage but at 34 MPG it...
WOW, we were hoping to downsize from a full size Ram 1500 and get better mileage with the hybrid. It is only a few mpg better than our the Ram with the 5.7 Hemi v8. They couldn't even get 25?
CD magazine got 28 MPG with a Toyota Crown with the same hybrid system. It is undoubtably lighter and more aerodynamic than the new Tacoma. My guess is 24mpg.
