If you're seeing $3k discount on flagship ('7k') beyond that of ORP('3.5k-4k'), that $6k gap I mentioned is miniscule for all that you get. Here's hoping Toyota keeps cranking out too many THs and I can grab a sweet deal.
Were you just trawling autotrader and calling each dealer? I imagine...
Agree on like all of the accounts. I think I'm going to try to broaden my aperture and make the call when I have real offers in hand. 7k off a OR LB premium sounds great, as would 5k off a TH, or 6k off a 51k base OR. Considering barebones is sufficient for me and fully loaded is within my...
Yea, you're right. LBOR would be enough for my needs. For $50k I could get the Upgrade package and a moonroof and have plenty creature comforts. If they offered hybrid or MT in a LB, it'd be a different story.
Anecdotally, Reddit for one TH fella, TacomaWorld for another. Cars.com is showing ~11 TH in the 60-61k range.
Edit: oh, big caveat. Those cheaper TH are all in Hawaii for whatever reason, save one "new" TH in MD with 4k miles on it.
Yea, good call on the use-case. I'm looking for an all-or-many-purpose machine. I want it for commuting, work/home hauling, off-roading (beach/rock/snow, less mudding), dog packing, primitive camping (not overlanding per se), work/tailgate powering, road tripping...everything but towing and...
Oof. It's like mpg and gas prices are what they were 15 years ago. An absurd bright side is that Tacoma now cost twice as much, so fuel is relatively half the price of owning/operating.
I heard one fella who nabbed one for 60k even. Sure enough I'm seeing a few on autotrader in that vicinity. I'm assuming the downward price pressure is going continue for a while, but I could be wrong.
I can swing it.
Thanks, y'all. This would be a BIG purchase for me, but something to enjoy for 20+ years. I've never had a new vic. With used prices the way they are I might as well. I'd probably pay it off in <2 years even w/o a trade-in, so not exactly beyond my budget.
I've been planning to get a hybrid OR...but I need a LB. I'm starting to think, despite the price tag, the TH juice might be worth the squeeze. The OR hybrid is already a buttload and, with the add-ons I want, it's almost TH price territory. I am not a fan of the sport bar or snorkel, but the...
I average 8 years for my used jalopies. Never had a car payment or a warranty. All have been on the scrapyard doorstep by the time I offloaded them. This is my first and maybe only new vehicle.
I'm shooting to triple the average, so 24 years minimum, which probably puts it over 350k miles...
Just as 4th gen failing to sell, older gens crazy resales values are really short term phenomena. Reliability is the biggest driver of value holding. I see no reason at this point to think the 4th gens will be less reliable despite what the anti-turbo luddites say. The second biggest driver...
I found this video really interesting. It looks like Toyota has been making a concerted effort to improve thermal efficiency in TNGA engines. In terms of engineering, it's a whole slew of innovations to shift the graph below to the right and increase reliability via thermal efficiency. So TNGA...
