It's standard for the OR, and higher trims, but not on SR5 or Sport. Just google 4th gen front cross member and there's a lot of options. not expensive actually!
so mine is non hybrid. But considering that the land cruiser is hybrid, front skid should fit. Not sure if the sway bar disconnect would change that though.
as for the trans skid plate, it’s from the trailhunter, which is hybrid.
Eeyyyy!! Guess it’s the same folks here as the ones on Instagram. 😆
yeah, I know it’s just a badge, but it’s like slapping a TRD pro badge on a non-pro.
So the front skids of the land cruiser 250 fit the Tacoma off-road pretty dead on. It’s basically identical to the trailhunter skids, except it’s stamped Toyota rather than trailhunter.

They've honestly been great! I've driven them on deep snow, icy roads and shallow snow. Also have gone snow wheeling with them. Only had trouble when it was 3 feet of snow off road, and when on icy inclines - also off road. On mountain passes and pavement, no issues at all.
It is a bit noisier...
The rearview camera location is definitely a miss. Would be better if it was on the tailgate. Toyota got a lot of things right with the Trailhunter, but some stuff I really scratch my head on. lol.
That being said, still jealous, haha!
I also realized this! However, these features are useless if you build out the truck for overlanding. Any rack/RTT is just going to block the camera. And I'm also glad the tailgate doesn't come with the motor.
I ended up with steel. I've been doing more technical stuff and steel will be vastly better from a durability standpoint.
From what you've described your usage is, aluminum is probably the way to go.
Hey OP! I'm considering putting on the exact same tire on mine and just have a few questions.
I currently have the 33 inch version of the same tire.
1. What sort of trimming did you have to do to avoid rubbing?
2. Whats your current MPG based on the dash display? Calculated mine using google...
That part I'm not too sure. I had an offroad shop install it and they took care of everything. From what I gather, I think it doesn't need anything else other than aftermarket lugs.
Same. I was skeptical but really happy in the end.
Also, I'm so happy with your screen protectors! I installed mine on my truck and took a video. Just need to edit and post!
Hey there! I'm thinking of installing chase lights and just want to check if what I have planned is correct. Chase lights are linked below. Planning to connect them to the plug D under the bed. Also, the light kit I bought comes wired with relays, and a fuse.
So, since my TRD off road comes...
New wheels and tires completely changed how the taco looks. I like the stock wheels, but the bronze just looks so nice with the underground paint.
Haven't noticed any difference in power and handling compared to stock, so that's good. Still got about 19mpg, calculated using google maps and...
