  1. Reviewing options - Four Wheel Camper puts me way over payload capacity

Very impressive buildout. While I am somewhat of a handyman, you're much more skilled than I am.
  2. Reviewing options - Four Wheel Camper puts me way over payload capacity

I am now leaning toward a Tune M1 with a Vecel Outdoors interior buildout. The weight of the Tune M1 is 400-500lb, depending on options, and the largest Vecel Outdoors setup I would go with is 260lb. So 760lb dry. The cost for this setup is also quite a bit less than a proper FWC buildout that I...
  3. Reviewing options - Four Wheel Camper puts me way over payload capacity

Wow, so you're basically at/just over payload once you hop in. And the truck doesn't feel sluggish driving?
  4. Reviewing options - Four Wheel Camper puts me way over payload capacity

I have lots of questions :) But we'll start with - do you know what the weight of your FWC w/ options is dry? It looks like a base Fleet model with no options starts at 810lbs. Trailhunter payload capacity is 1,425lbs. Did you replace the springs, or just do airbags with stock suspension?
  5. Reviewing options - Four Wheel Camper puts me way over payload capacity

Yes, I was surprised to discover the Tundra doesn’t offer much more payload than the Tacoma. Vehicle size is definitely a concern. I got PPF on my entire Tacoma. If I hadn’t, it would look brutal due to the tight trails I go on.
  6. Reviewing options - Four Wheel Camper puts me way over payload capacity

Do you have any posts with pictures/additional impressions? Very interested in learning more about 5ft or 6ft bed?
  7. Reviewing options - Four Wheel Camper puts me way over payload capacity

I currently tow a 1,200lb (dry) off-road teardrop trailer and over the past year have done almost 40 nights in it. I work off-grid with this setup and also run a YouTube channel, documenting my trips. However, I am looking to change my setup in about a year. The main improvements I want are...
  8. Got stuck overnight in 2' of snow - lessons learned

I did MTS and crawl control, but I never actually engaged the rear locker. That would’ve helped significantly, in addition to turning off traction control.
  9. Got stuck overnight in 2' of snow - lessons learned

Agreed on the trailer issue. Long term, I have my eye on a Four Wheel Camper or something similar. Want the “livability” so I can work remotely while in an interior area, but yea - I have got myself into a couple tricky spots towing a trailer. It’s fun to look back on. Not so much fun in the...
  10. Got stuck overnight in 2' of snow - lessons learned

KO3s…no complaints. Thank you! I actually filmed a bit less than normal because I was stressed, so I felt it was a bit lacking in some areas. Appreciate the feedback, though. I have yet to find one that I like that doesn’t completely change the front end look. Not a good reason to not have...
  11. Got stuck overnight in 2' of snow - lessons learned

Well, it finally happened. After about a year of overlanding and 30+ nights in my trailer, we finally got ourselves into quite a tricky situation. There were a number of mistakes I made on this trip that continued to compound on each other, ultimately resulting in getting stuck in about 2' of...
  12. Rear Creaking Sounds after installing Alldogs Offroad Rear Springs

Yes, same location. The sound stopped after doing so.
  13. Camping in the Blue Mountains of SE Washington. Working, Starlink, MLB playoffs

If you are interested, let me know and I can get you a referral code for a free month of service. It has worked out great for me. I plan to do a dedicated Starlink video at some point in the near future.
  14. Camping in the Blue Mountains of SE Washington. Working, Starlink, MLB playoffs

We ventured down to the Blue Mountains in southeast Washington this past weekend for a couple nights of cold fall camping. I'm able to work remotely thanks to Starlink. We also fired up the Mariners-Tigers ALDS Game 5 on night two. While I generally enjoy dispersed camping for its remoteness and...
  15. Replace front and rear differential oil beginning at 15,000 miles?

The maintenance schedule indicates replacing the front and rear differential oil at 15,000-mile intervals, beginning at the 15k mark, if towing. I somehow missed this; I'm approaching 23,000 miles and tow frequently, albeit a light trailer. The process seems pretty straight forward. I've only...
  16. Toyota app keeps signing me off my account

I discontinued my subscription until they can resolve this.
  17. What did you do TO / WITH your 4th gen Tacoma today?! 👨‍🏭 🧰 📸

Took it up into the mountains and camped for a night. We had to go into 4LO in a couple spots due to the rocky, incredibly steep terrain. I was a bit worried I didn't have the clearance to get past the obstacles. It performed flawlessly. I continue to be amazed at the capabilities of this truck...
  18. Do I need the app to use the FOB remote start?

I was paying the $15/month for the app, but an update they made turned it into complete garbage. It would log me out multiple times per day, despite selecting the "Keep me signed in" button. Discontinued until they can fix it.
  19. Lasfit turn signals are major upgrade

I had one unit already fail - wasn't aware of this. Good to know
  20. What did you do TO / WITH your 4th gen Tacoma today?! 👨‍🏭 🧰 📸

Had coffee on the tailgate halfway up the Going-to-the-Sun Road in Glacier National Park.
