I just removed mine today along with the skid ācarpetā (I did my first oil change). I put all the bolts back in. Especially up front where they hold down the wheel-well carpeting. One thing I noticed was a lot of rattle with the front plastic trim that was stabilized by the air dam. Is there a...
Interesting data. Mine was not listed. The dealer I purchased it from is present in the list and they show tacos sold but my VIN is not there. Sad to see so many bronze being sold. I wanted to be more unique ;-D
I tried that but the key would not work from my wallet. Seems if it is anywhere near a credit card / debit card, it has extremely short range [e.g. < 1' ]. Same is true if i am holding the cc key and my phone in the same hand. So far, I have been disappointed with the cc key for those...
It's there. Dealership[ told me I don't have to do any break-in when I picked up my truck [4-hour interstate drive from home]. He said, "that's an old-school regime". I ignored him and broke up my drive home to highway and side roads. When I got home, I found a blurb in the manual that said...
Mine leaks real bad in heavy rain. Not on the sides but in the folds. That water drains into the rail gutters which get overloaded and overflow. I figured this out by isolating the panels from the edges with wet towels and then sprayed water on the top. Leaked like a sieve. Did the same on the...
On my gen2 Taco I switched the OEM Fog/Driving Lights out with some super bright amber LEDs. Low and behold they actually made seeing in foggy conditions better. Another benefit I found is driving in packed-snow, ice and heavily washed-boarded roads. The lower, higher-contrast beam makes...
The individual areas [top, top sides, bottom sides] independently cycle ON/OFF. I haven't noticed a cycling pattern yet as I have only used the feature a 'handful' ;-D of times. I find myself moving my hands to the warm spots as I drive. It's like doing the Macarena as I drive.
I am willing to bet the foam is from the front end of the gutter. Here is a pic of the back end. The back has a small plastic cap but the front has the draintube adapter cap. Both caps, for some stupid reason, are open on the ends and water can drain straight out of the gutters ends. So on the...
I did originally think water was coming in through the tailgate side gaps. I made these seals out of 5/16ā x 1ā Black Vinyl Foam weatherstrip tape. Fits perfectly. Does not interfere with auto tailgate
I was able to crawl into the bed and close the tailgate while the truck sat out in the rain. I found out at least where the water is entering the bed. The gutters are being overwhelmed. The rain was moderate (not heavy, not light). This has to be water collecting on the panels not leaking...
As an update, I discovered these. I dried out the bed yesterday and then exposed it to rain again (weāre getting a ton here) for a 10 minute drive. Puddles in the bed. Biggest leaks are at the tailgate gaps on either side. Canāt do anything about those. Gutters up by the cab were all wet. A ran...
Thanks for reply. I did look at DB but wanted the āfull openā mode this offered. I did expect some leaks but this was more than expected. Also, I am concerned the front corner leaks are due to the drain tracks being overwhelmed for some reason. If, as you say, itās normal for this (and similar)...
I hope this is only a temporary condition - my OEM cover leaks on all sides. It appears there is significant leaking along the tailgate, which I assumed would be the weakest seal. Tailgate seal rests on tailgate per OEM instructions. Both sides have runs all the way to the front, albeit appear...
It's in there. I had the dealer tell me there is no need. Then I found it in the manual. Don't have it available to read right now but if i recall it was something like, "avoid fast starts/stops, don't tow, and vary your speeds for first 1000 miles [or 1000 Km].
Is it starting in 3rd? When I use the manual shift like that it also shows '3'. But it starts in first, shifts to second, and then to third per normal. It then maxes out in third. If I come to a stop, it will downshift back to first and repeat when I start moving again.
I just installed my OEM Cover. It was quite easy even with one bad arm (recent elbow/wrist surgeries). I am happy to report there are no issues with the automatic tailgate operation. Also, the rearview mirror camera option still has 100% coverage with the cover folded up and connected to the...
