This was by no means a professional install. I have a Goose Gear 60% seat delete so this made my options pretty slim. I didn't want an under seat enclosure because that would sacrifice my interior storage, and Taco-Tunes' upcoming rear enclosure seems to come with seat spacers, which I was...
I do. It's not a professional installation by any means. I just did what worked for me.
There are plans to secure it. The seat up against it is good enough to hold it down for now.
I ended up tearing out the back end and put in sound deadening on everything I could. It was driving me insane. Having Toyo A/Ts certainly doesn’t help. The truck came with the JBL system and I noticed the factory sub is ported to the outside of the cabin which is allowing noise to get through...
I'll share too. I bought my truck in July of 2024. I'm at $731/month for 60 months @ 4.79%. 10k down.
Let's face it, lots of people don't have access to a large pile of cash to buy a new truck outright. A general rule of thumb for me when financing is to put any extra cash towards the...
I can concur with this. I initially installed them without the coil spring covers and the creaking was definitely there. Took the coils out, threw on the sleeves and reinstalled them. It's been quiet since. I think this was something that was overlooked by Alldogs. Sometimes it happens.
It looks like they share the same mounting. However, on the brushless, the air fitting is on the opposing side of the filters rather than on top of the shroud. You may need to move things around. Luckily, the bracket has some wiggle room to move the compressor up/down, side-to-side.
Best of...
I got the bracket from Zroadz Off Road. Compressor I got it from someone that was retiring their rig. I have a small thread on my profile with some links on how I put it together.

Zroadz Off Road. Yes, it's...
Nice writeup. It's nice to see other onboard air threads. I installed the ARB compressor back in February. Good to see other options.
Edit: February, not last year. 😵
TRD Off Road non-hybrid. I average 17-19 on the highway in Normal drive mode at 70-75 mph. Eco mode I can get up to 22-24mpg at 65-70 mph. That's with a bed rack and 200 lbs in the bed full time. Perhaps you can change the drive mode to Eco as it will delay throttle input.
Stop and go...
I was a technician. It usually means "We broke something we weren't supposed to touch"
I 100% agree with you. It's only the flex hoses and bleeding procedure. Some tech made an oppsie for sure. Wasn't going to call them out on it as it was warrantied but it was annoying, nonetheless.
Nice to hear it was hassle-free for you. I had it done last week, but it wasn't as smooth sailing. Apparently, they had to 'calibrate' the parking brake actuators after the recall and one of them short circuited and threw a code. Had to use a rental for a couple days while they got the new part...
I'm putting together an overlanding build on my 4th gen. Not only the rack would add extra versatility and storage for my trips, it'll look good on the truck!
