Interesting. We just picked up our new LC250 last week and drove 600 miles home with no problems so far. Have around 800 miles on it to this point with no hard shifting. One of the first 500 made. I am, perhaps incorrectly, under the impression that the transmission manufacturer on these two...
Just FYI on winter performance. I had one on my last truck and live at 9,000 feet with 200+ inches of snow a winter and never had any issues. We get a lot of sunshine though, so maybe that helped.
This is exactly why I decided not to move forward with my purchase. I could not decide between the Canyon AEV and the TRD Pro. You may have seen my other post. Giving it a couple years to decide and getting my wife a Land Cruiser this week. While I’m sad not to be getting a new truck now, she is...
Yeah. With my indecisiveness, it just felt like it made sense to do something different. We found a good deal in a FE in meteor shower and decided to go for it.
I will definitely miss having a truck for a year or two though.
Sorry for the click bait title. Just popping into say I gave up my allocation due to arrive in a week or two. Ultimately, I honestly couldn’t make up my mind between the Canyon AEV and the TRD Pro allocation, so the wife and I are getting a Land Cruiser. I’ll be back to the midsize pickup world...
Why do people keep saying the Tacoma had no bump stops. Is this true? Is it true across trims? I have a Pro soon to be delivered and I do not believe this is true at this trim level. Thanks in advance!
I can say from calling around that there are many Pros that can be had for MSRP. Just have to do some legwork. Of course, you run into the dealerships with 5k and 10k markups. A dealership I passed on a while ago has a Pro in the lot for 2500 markup. Originally they wanted 5000, but I guess no...
Interesting. I wasn’t aware they were required to report it. I’d be curious to see what teeth there are for mandating reporting.

it’s implied by simple probabilities. We have a small subset of 4G Tacoma owners here and have a handful of them with failed transmissions at minimum. Of course, people on forums are biased toward those with negative outcomes, but extrapolation suggests more despite our likely population bias.
For reference, my Pro was week 30, so end of July. It was built 8/6 or 8/7. Got the permanent vin 8/7. Arrival to dealer changed from 8/23-9/17 to 9/3-9/16. That’s all I know. Haven’t heard anything from the dealer for a couple of weeks.
