Yeah agreed. Even with 300lbs in the bed it still didn’t handle nearly as well as my 5th gen 4Runner in 2WD. 4WD is always on now in the snow. I’m not messing around with switching between 2WD/4WD.
We've been getting dumped on as well. Running 285/75/17 K03s with MT (no A-TRAC/MTS) and runs like a champ as long as 4HI is on. 2WD, even in light snowy/icy roads was extremely sketchy.
It reduces your suspension travel, limiting how much it can flex. Also, puts a ton of extra strain on your suspension making it easier for things to break. Going to ride really rough too.
Any updates on anyone running 285/75/17? I have a set of that size KO3s coming and hoping to stuff it under there aired down with the resonator delete turndown. 🤷‍♂️
I swear this is one of the many things that are over represented by the online car community (e.g. buyers wanting hideous sports wagons not avail. In the US). The truth is the vast majority of people do not want nor have the need for a 6ft bed. Look at the stats it’s currently at like 16% 6ft...
Bro how does posting a picture of the other TSB have anything to do with the one in this thread? There are clearly manual transmission VINs on it and either that’s wrong (unlikely) or the description is a typo (likely). We’ve seen a few MTs on here fail and they’re definitely related to this...
FWIW my manual trans VIN is in the latest TSB and not the manual specific one. I think the latest one just has an incorrect description mentioning automatics.
