I have a appointment at the dealer to do the work. Trying to go through insurance has been a nightmare, so I'm paying out of pocket and hopefully insurance will reimburse.
It seems it's not the weight or mods that matter, but more the height/angle. So I'm going recalibration isn't an issue, but...
I had them installed at the same time as the front Alldogs springs. While it doesn't prevent the failure, I need to know I can drive back safely should the failure occur.
Any idea how the Falcon, EMU, and Bilstein would handle 1000 lbs of and gear? I've been looking into upgrades as the stock OR Bisteins can't handle the higher rates of the Dobinsons 821s in the rear. When dropping off rocks/ledges or just small whoops, there's bounce that takes a little while to...
I cracked my windshield on the highway and it seems the ADAS needs to be recalibrated with a replacement windshield. The shops says they may not be able to calibrate the system if I have any additional weight or height has been changed. I have a camper in the back (Tune M1), but also springs...
I didn't make any measurements before I had the camper on. With the camper on and fairly loaded, my front was ~20.25" and rear ~20.5". So the F/R spring setup gave me ~1.25"F / ~3"R with my load, but seems that got me mostly back to just higher than stock. I think if you don't have as much...
In case anyone's interested, here's latest heigh measurements after installing Alldogs front springs (already had Dobinsons 821 rear springs) (wheel center to fender edge):
Front: ~21.5"
Rear: ~23.75"
There's some load in the truck (guessing ~850-900 lbs...fully loaded I'm closer to 1100 lbs)...
Just FYI, latest measurements after installing Alldogs front springs (wheel center to fender edge):
Front: ~21.5"
Rear: ~23.75"
There's some load in the truck (guessing ~850-900 lbs...fully loaded, I'm closer to 1100 lbs), and I did add another 60 lbs at the very rear of the bed adding another...
Completed mine yesterday. Can't tell what they changed. I think the dealer scratched my passenger door and took some paint off my rear bumper. I hate dealers.
Good luck with getting it all fixed. I have mine tomorrow. I hope they don't fork it up.
I hate when dealerships don't own up to their mistakes. The last time I took my truck in, I got it back and saw a disconnected wiring harness dangling out from the bottom of my dash, beneath the steering...
That's pretty sad their techs can't figure it out. What would they do if they needed to remove the light for some repair/service?
Is there a way to use color or something to check for clearance/interference when trying to install it straight in? Something is hitting and blocking.
That's odd. I didn't remove the taillights when I installed my bed stiffeners. I'm horrible at getting things to fit back right after disassembling stuff. Hope you find the solution soon. I'll be watching this in case I ever need to R&R my taillights.
Yeah, you won the recall lotto! I've been waiting for quite a while for a letter saying I can go in for the fix. Hopefully they get more soon, or at least before I have an issue.
Very good point! I saw Chloe Kuo's video about this. Now I'm looking to potentially replace the bearing also while my mechanic is doing the front springs.
Is the seal needed too?
FYI, I have Dobinson 821 rears already. The Alldogs will help level me out a bit.
