Mine sounds the same way. I figured more than likely it’s the direct injection system on the engine once under load aka drive makes the direct injection kick in more due to the load. Hence when it’s in park or neutral it’s not under load so it’s quieter.

I recently installed the hood insulator on my 24 SR5 DBL CAB. I gotta say it definitely in my opinion quietened it down. I still hear the turbo and the direct injection rattle sound but it’s a lot quieter than before. I got it for 250.00 to me it was worth it. At least now people riding with me...

True that’s the whole reason why I like tow/haul it’s definitely more responsive and better my opinion than any other mode. I didn’t know if that was normal though
