Welcome to the 6ft Off-Road club! There may not be too many of us but all are welcome. I picked up mine in Oct and have loved every mile. Mileage gets better. Happy trails!
I too have the Toyota version of the cover and while some water gets into my 6' bed from heavy rain or the aggressive car wash, it's fine. It's a truck. I keep some essentials in a water-resistant Plano box just in case. I'm really happy with the cover.
I am really hoping for an improvement in MPGs as my mileage increases but for now, it is less than what I expect. I have a 6ft bed with the factory cover and stock 17" wheels. I'm playing with lowering the tire pressure from 40PSI to 35PSI cold. Crazy that the truck was delivered with such a...
Not sure this was mentioned, but the brightness of that lamp tracks with the cluster brightness. I have mine turned down for night driving and find that LED in the headliner is just pleasant enough.
I just bought the Toyota extra Care from Troy and the process was absolutely a dream and service was excellent. In fact, the price appeared so good I didn't shop it too much. Given all of the tech on this truck, I'd rather spend a few extra dollars than be shocked at the service desk later. Troy...
Your write up is excellent and has inspired me to create my own. I bought an Off road last month and had to travel an absurd distance to get it, but a month in and I love it. This is my first ever truck and love the drive so far!
The tubes are simply too small to deal with anything greater than a drip. I think the tubes need to be 3/8" but darn if I don't want to drill that size hole in my bed. ;)
I have a 6ft Off Road (Premium) and with 1,275 miles I am averaging 19.2 mpg. The best I've seen is 21.1 mpg. I don't know what the break-in period is on this engine but so far I think 20ish is pretty good. I did install the TRD high flow engine air filter (K&N equivalent) and saw some improvement.
I just installed the OEM cover on my 6' OR and can confirm it is beautiful. Installation took me about 2 hours and was straight forward. I placed an online order with a local dealer and paid $1,140. All you need is a T30 bit, 1/2" socket and a screwdriver. Very easy to get done.
