Found the answer re: Auto LSD
"Tacomas with rear-wheel drive feature an automatic limited-slip differential (Auto LSD), and four-wheel-drive models have an electronically controlled two-speed transfer case with high/low range along with Active Traction Control (A-TRAC) and an automatic...
@bking is it true that the locking rear diff is only available in 4-lo? I'm used to the GM automatic clutch based G80 or Fords electronic switch that can be activated any time needed (deactivates over 25mph). Even my old Tundra has Auto LSD...which albeit electronic and you have to push the...
Just watched a good video that reviewed a super nice TRD Sport that's been up-fitted for off roading:
TrailRecon
This got me thinking - what are the actual physical differences between the two trims, especially considering the price between the two is very close (at least it is for me in...
No source, other than the 2025 4runner will be offered in cutting edge silver vs celestial silver. But maybe the two models will be distinct with their silver paint, who knows. I'd really like to see Magnetic Grey return...and don't lock it out to certain trims and packages.
I should add...2024 is likely an anomaly for them in the Tacoma line...(lots of remaining inventory at year end, in the US anyway). Something they don't see with this model. They are studying it for sure
Honestly I feel like Toyota corporate is running some heavy analytics and data pulls on remaining inventory, most popular trims/colors/locations, and all things sales data related. Trying to hone in on what customer/public acceptance was for 2024...then they'll move forward with 2025 model...
All great points guys...truly appreciate you taking the time to give feedback and comments! Currently I am still on course with the 2025 Tacoma. I do think the ZR2 is an absolute beast...truly a legit off roader, turn key from the dealer lot. It does come up short on a few things unrelated to...
@SilverSurfer yeah you're right. It's quite tempting, not gonna lie...but browsing the Colorado forums...yikes. Lots of issues, especially factory quality issues with paint/trim/details. Plus, if you don't have a sunroof...you can't go through an automatic carwash or the roof will dent in. OMG.
@TacoFreak it's a really tough decision! I love my old Tundra...but it's also "old Toyota quality". I want to believe that the new ones still have the same lineage and legacy of quality within...but it remains to be seen at this point. Even so, I absolutely love the Tacoma, and think it's the...
Soooo I'm waiting for this (2025 TRD Sport Premium, 6ft, WCP)....due end of January (likely first week of Feb)...
And....this came up today. Fully loaded. Test drove it, got a deal price. It's the same out the door price as the Taco, albeit a (new) 2024. I'm literally torn!
@BMM123 Sorry to awaken an old post, but how is your TRD Sport Prem treating you? Any issues with paint? Do you have any chipping in front of the rear wheel? What's you highway L/100?
I have the exact same truck coming, 2025 model!
@ePhil Dealers have 2025's in the order queue...they just refuse to acknowledge it because of corporate rules, since Toyota hasn't released pricing. My dealer was able to do an order swap with another dealer to get exactly what I wanted, and they guaranteed me the 2024 price...knowing that the...
@ePhil not a typo. You need to find a local single owner Toyota dealership...that's not part of a big conglomerate organization with inflated prices, fees on fees, and dealership rules out the wazoo.
@Franko Manini There was a TH demo unit at a dealer I was at this weekend...had a couple thousand KM's on it. The front of the rear fender flare and adjacent paint was completely peppered and chipped. They were still asking full MSRP, complete with free paint chips! LOL
