Picked up this older Thule Bed rack with locking adjustable uprights. Model xt422. No mounting kit available so I made up some simple L shaped aluminum brackets. They overlap the rack base and clamp to the truck bed rails. Will also be clamping the brackets to the rail slots with 5mm ss bolts...
Very frustrating for us Canadians. On Amazon.com it is priced at 229.00. Exact same item on Amazon Canada price is 667.00. This is ridiculous and it makes it so much more expensive for us Canucks to mod out trucks.
I was looking at get some ko2’s for my Tacoma, but those are made in the USA. I’m Canadian and Ibelieve vehicle tires are part of Canada’s Tarriff list on US items. Going to make expensive tires even more expensive. Sad where this is going.
I negotiated for an oem roof rack when purchasing my 24 off road. Found it to be too noisy and also realized there would be snow clearing issues in the winter. Removed it and sold it. Lost 500 when selling, but it saw lots of use for 6 months lugging my kayak around.
MyTRD off road is a march build. My serial is in the TSB range. 26000+km and no problems at all. Most of that mileage is towing my 2100 pound camper, and part of that a 14300 road trip with camper and kayak to Alaska and back home to Ottawa Ontario.
Very interesting list. I have a gen 4 TRD off road premium in solar octane with softex black interior. I grabbed it as soon as I saw it on the lot. Was brought in as an allocation customer order. When customer saw it he waffled on the purchase and said he wanted to think about it. I happened to...
Found the source of sound for my truck. Front passenger side seat belt latch contacting the trim between both doors. This post had me finally look for the cause.
I’m experiencing noises from the passenger door area. Gen 4 trd off road with 26000km. Sounds somewhat like the door isn’t fully closed. More pronounced with the very cold temperatures in my area. Was going to investigate more when it warms up.
I wasn’t happy at all with my roof rack which I had negotiated into my try off road premium purchase. Too much wind noise overall. Removed it and sold it quickly on marketplace.
Senior, living in Ottawa. 2024 TRD off road premium. Clean record, $1724 annually. 2 million liability, full coverage with full replacement and 500 deductible. Through Costco Inova broker. Other quotes were fair bit more, was told it was listed as a high risk theft vehicle.
I'm in Canada. Starting off the key fob doesn't work at all. I asked the sales person about this and was told it doesn't work in Canada. Have to use the app, which always works. Be nice to have it work off the fob though. Any Canadians out there that manage to have the fob work?
I towed my 2100 camper from Ottawa to the Yukon and into Alaska this fall. 14300km round trip and some of that on nasty sections of the Alaska hwy, Dempster hwy, and Top of the World hwy. My tv is a 24 trd off road, and it towed like a charm. Truck bed was fully loaded plus kayak on the roof...
Red is a good looking color for sure, but solar octane just pops. To drive one you have to be someone who doesn’t care what other people think. Just love that paint color. The red would be my second choice.
