Anyone else purchase a base model off road with larger display and no trailer brake controller?

This is my first taco so I have nothing to compare too except my 2006 f150. So far, I love the torque, interior and adaptive cruise. Still waiting to take it off road. I’m very interested in the trailer brake controller issues. My off road didn’t come with the controller and I eventually want a plus n play replacement.
