Hi — looking to upsize my tires on my stock 18” rims for 2024 TRD OR I-force Max. The stock tires are OEM 265/70/18 Falken Wildpeaks AT‘s. The only two tires I can find in non E load are the general grabber (no thank you) and this new Toyo EV tire which seems to a) look good, b) weighs 43 pounds in this size, and c) is an SL.and d) are 3 PM snowflake rated.

Use will be primarily on road, with some light offroading (fire trails, etc) and some snowy trips to the mountains.

I realize this tire was specifically designed for heavier EV’s, but thinking it could be a good solution for those of us iforce max owners wanting to retain the stock 18” wheels.

I have searched and I realize there are many other options in 17’s, but I really don’t want to replace my wheels.

Thanks all, appreciate your opinions.

I'm pretty sure Nitto Ridge Grapplers, Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac, Falken Wildpeak A/T4W (very heavy though), Toyo Open Country A/T III, and the General Grabber A/TX are all available in a "C" or "SL" rating in the size you're looking for (265/70R18). I've heard good things about all of them, but I don't think they're all 3 peak rated. Aside from the Falkens, they're all under 50 lbs too. If you're patient, BFGoodrich KO3s are supposedly coming out in a "C" or "SL" rating sometime this year. I have the heavier "E" rated ones in 275/70R18 and am really liking them a lot. Good luck!

The Duratrac is a fantastic tire or WAS. I've ran over 15 sets on 1 ton Ford diesels over the last 7 yrs. I put a set on in Sept of 24 on a truck that had already ran 2 sets 50k each. This 3rd set had a different sidewall and seemed different rubber compound. That size used to be made in USA but was now made in Peru/ Braxili/ Chili,( cant remember ) but they are loud as hell. I won't be buying another $1800 set of E rated 20" Duratracs.

@frappy608 LOL, I just realized that I didn't answer your question at all! My bad... yeah, if you're looking for a 275 tread width, your tire options are extremely limited in the "C" or "SL" rating category. I was in the same boat cause I wanted a 275 and just settled with the heavier tire 🤷‍♂️. Mine are nearly 60 lbs each! One potential option that I think a lot of people are "sleeping" on is the BFGoodrich Trail-Terrain T/A (I believe it's different from the OEM tires on the standard Off Road trims even though it has the same name), and it's available in an SL rating (45 lbs). It would be a 275/65R18, so you'd lose some diameter (32.1"). If you really want a 33" tire, again, you're options are super limited unfortunately. The same tire in a 265/70R18 is 32.6", so it gets you close. There are obviously a huge number of options if you stick with a 265 section tire. Plus you know they'll fit since it's OEM size.
