Dealer installed front bumper license plate mount - how's yours mounted?

Those who have already gotten their 4runner with a front license plate mount from the dealer, how is it installed? I'm guessing holes in the front bumper? How well does the mount fit on the front bumper

In Canada it’s standard but not sure exactly how it attaches. Maybe the photo helps?

I believe there is something behind the bumper that the screws grab

I told them not to mount it, as I didn't want to have holes drilled. I'm hoping there is an aftermarket option out, before I get a fix it ticket!

I wonder if the dealer installed bracket was supplied by toyota or they just slapped a random one on. The install looks fine for the most part but not drilling the bumper is probably better

I think it was provided by Toyota. They gave the assembly to me, just in case I did want to drill.

I asked them not to and if they did after I told them not to they gave a discount

It doesn't grab on to anything in the back so no threads. They just drill holes in to the plastic with a bit and then put the plate
