Hello All,

I got a new TRD ORP and was wondering if anyone knew what the performance was on the 18" rims. They came with the 4runner. I want to do some easy to moderate off roading in the future and I was wondering if i should keep these or get some methods 703's with 33" inch tires. Any thought will help me out. Thanks in advance.

Wheels would be fine for moderate off-roading, but tires you'll probably want at least a C load range for any off-roading that might involve rocks. The stock tires are in no way fit for off-road. Going to 17" wheels gets you a lot more options for tires.

Thanks for reply. That's what I've seen on youtube and forums. I just wanted to double make sure that the stock ones are not worth keeping.

They're fine for like a groomed dirt road or gravel, but anything where you need to engage 4 wheel drive, or air down they're not gonna cut it as far as traction or durability. They're pretty soft and street-oriented.

Since this truck is mostly a daily driver for me, I went with a Toyo AT3 in stock size load range SL and that's probably underkill for actual off-roading. On my 5th gen that I still have, I've been running BFG Ko2/ko3 for the last 10 years and they're great tires but heavy af, stiff af and will decrease both MPG and ride comfort noticeably. Never had a flat even when deep in moab rocks, but as a daily they're pretty gnarly. Just gotta pick what compromise you're willing to choose.

So I might be a good idea to just keep 2 sets. One for some off roading and the stock ones for daily driving. Something to consider.

Yeah I do play games all the time. Right now I am playing satisfactory and Indiana Jones on game pass. I switch around different games every so often.

I am on the way to get an ORP. Did you get a full black wheel as in this picture? I was told o will get one that is black and some bright metallic finish.

I have the stock wheels with the Michelins on the ORP Hybrid. I am in the process of trying to decide wheels and tires now. It is super confusing--I found some Methods I like. Currently looking at Bahia Blue if it works for my Heritage Blue. If it does, they only come in 17" ...so I believe I will need a lift which I really don't want to do. I also don't want to cut/trim anything either. Decisions Decisions...but I waited so long for it, I can wait a bit more to make sure I get it right. :ROFLMAO:

The wheels came with the 4runner. They are the 18 inch TRD black matte wheels.

Were in the same boat. The only think with the methods is, I was told to get the +35 offset in the 703 to make sure that you dont get rubbing. Also i dont want to mess with suspension unless i really have to.

One guy at a off-road place in Colorado said he spoke with Methods rep and they will come out in a few months with something he would trust better to work with new 4Runner. So I am not sure what I will do. Once I see the wheel, I will talk more about what it would entail and if it would work. I have been two different places--one said he would do the Toyo tires while other said he would do Mickey Thompson or Falken tires. I plan easy to moderate off road about 10-20% while 80%+ will be be daily driving in Colorado. I have much to learn regarding tires.
