Our Tacoma is the 5 Toyota we've had and we hope it does the extraordinary service we've had with the others. I had some reluctance going back to a pickup but it will be the best tool for my next few years. It was not easy but we finally got a TRD OR long bed in our region not as most either towards base or loaded with more than we wanted.

Hopefully no problems with the new generation and hopefully never needing to exercise its top crash rating. We lost a family member in a pickup truck accident not his fault but that highlighted how many are not safe.

Hoping to learn from your previous Toyota ownership. I intend to be like a sponge and soak up all the Toyota knowledge as possible.

It was all basic stuff. A gen 3 4Runner with manual trans, locker and heavy duty (electric, brakes) served weeks shy of 15 years including some professional guiding. Two Siennas each served a decade. An originally grandmother's Camry then belonged to two neighborhood families as a kids car.

There was some emotion with our young adult kids from trading the Sienna SE for the Tacoma. That covered their formative years and lots of emotional trips when a family member had a bad run with cancer.

We hope the new pickup is as good as those others. They made my wife pretty much trust Toyota like none of several brands we've had.

It sounds like Toyota has served you exceptionally well over the years, @bitflogger. The Tacoma seems poised to continue that legacy of durability, utility and reliability. Wishing you many safe, happy miles making new memories with the new truck!

Come to think about it, this is my 5th Toyota as well. It’s my 4th Tacoma but my other Toyota (which was actually the first vehicle I ever purchased at age 16) was a 1980 Toyota Celica GT
