RC Skid Plate for SR5 and Sport

I just saw this today
Skid Plate | Toyota Tacoma 4WD (2024) | Rough Country

Looks to be exactly what I'm looking for. I don't need to pay hundreds of dollars for a heavy duty skid plate as I don't plan on off-roading, but I want better protection than the felt thing that comes stock.

Has anyone else seen or tried this?

I just installed this on my Sport this week. I was in the same boat where I wanted to replace the felt splash guard. It's actually great for the sport since it doesn't need the crossbar the OR has for the skids. It just mounts to the front fastener holes the felt splash guard did. I just wish it had a hatch for oil changes so you didn't have to remove the whole skid. Also, this works if you bought the RC front shackle kit like I did.

Well, this is interesting. Wish I'd seen this before I got the RCI cross bar and the OR plastic skid plate. Would have saved about $40 and got more protection. Oh well.

I have this RC Skid plate on order. I am just looking for better protection than the standard fiber plate that comes with the truck as others have stated. I must admit the price was what first attracted me. If it offers the reasonable protection that it advertises it would be perfect for my needs. I thought about oil changes with no access holes but , again for the price the inconvenience of having to remove it maybe twice a year is not a big deal. With the air deflector removed it should give a more finished appearance to the front end. We shall see.
