Mods / Build Summary
Advanced Suspension Mods from Sequoia Parts
The 2025 4Runner TRD Pro has been heavily modified with components typically found on the Sequoia TRD Pro. In the front, they installed Fox TRD struts along with a lower collar from the Sequoia for added height. A 12" inch shim was added to increase lift further. In the rear, Sequoia rear springs were installed, topped with a 1.5" inch puck for extra lift.Ride Height Adjustments with Precise Measurements
Originally measured at 21.75" inches from axle to wheel well, the 4Runner now sits evenly at 24" inches in both the front and rear post-alignment. This change accounts for natural settling after installation. The balanced lift creates a level stance even with the added weight from modifications.- 🛞 Mounting 37" Inch Tires: Fitment Tricks and Fender Mods
Equipped with 37x12.5R17 Nitto Recon Grapplers on a +20 offset wheel, getting these massive tires to fit required finesse. The team removed liner screws and shifted the liner forward. They also removed a safety mount, detached a fender piece with three bolts, and slightly bent the fender to prevent rubbing—an approach subtle enough to go unnoticed visually. Clearance Issues and Rubbing Insights
At full steering lock, there is minor rubbing, but it’s mitigated by fender adjustments. The team emphasized that off-roading will cause the tires to rub due to articulation, and trimming the lower fender corner could eliminate this.Added Rear Weight and Its Effects
Before the spare tire carrier from Westcott Designs was added, the rear sat slightly higher (around 24.5"). Once installed, the truck balanced out at 24" all around. Removing the tire would reintroduce a slight rake—24" front vs. 24.5" rear.Visual Impact and Presence
The upgraded TRD Pro now resembles a “mini TRD Sequoia” with its towering stance. The window sill reaches shoulder height for an average adult, emphasizing how large the build has become. The stance and wheel setup give it a commanding, aggressive look.Future Mods and Plans
Plans are underway for a new roof rack design to be showcased on this very truck. The rack is intended to fit all models and will enhance functionality and aesthetics further.Real-World Testing in Arizona Heat
Despite intense heat, the creators share their real-world results and experiences for DIYers and off-road enthusiasts, making the video informative and actionable for those interested in similar upgrades.
Lift Height Jump from 21.75" to 24": A near 2.25" lift using Sequoia components and custom shims, showing strategic part swapping.
- 🛞 37x12.5x17 Tire Fitment - 37" / 37's: Achieved through minor fender alterations and offset tuning, demonstrating how to maximize tire size without drastic body work.
+20 Offset Wheels: Used to bring wheels outward enough for clearance but still requiring trimming—a delicate balance between performance and aesthetics.
