My wireless phone mount / charger set up - Quad Lock (for trims without wireless charging pad)

Finally got all the parts installed today for my new wireless phone mount/charger set up. I have a base model TRD OR so it doesn't have the wireless pad.

I went with the Ram Mount adhesive ball, 3" arm and Quad Locks mag charging base with ball. I think it a pretty clean set up. Bought a 1 foot usbc to usbc charger and tucked the slack under the ac/heat controls. I always run a quad lock case for my motorcycle so this made sense. Ram also makes a ball mount for the apple mag charger too!

Good idea. I have the wireless charging pad in my TRD Sport, but with a quad-lock case on my phone, it doesn't work very well. I can get it to charge when carefully placing the phone correctly, but have seen it quit charging if going over a rough stretch of road, which is substantial enough to move the phone from its charging position. I've also found that leaving on that pad, with the quad-lock case on it, that the phone gets very hot while charging. I don't like that either. I find it's much simpler to just plug the phone into one of the USB-C ports in that location.

Quad Lock is an awesome system! The only limitations I've found is with the wireless charging. I have them on my bicycle, and my motorcycle and are rock solid. The mag charging head works flawlessly and I even have it on a desk stand next to my bed.

I also like the placement with the Ram mount as it put the phone in a perfect place. Not hard to get to or view, but out of the way. I didn't want to drill into anything and I didn't want to use the vent mount where it would block the heat/ac.

Looks like a good setup. Does the adhesive ball head stick to textured surface well? I have tried smaller attachment devices and they fell off in 48 hours(I cleaned surface well).
My only other concern is the removal of the adhesive ball head if I ever want to make a change. Will it come off without damaging my rig? Thanks JohnT

So far the adhesive is sticking very well. The adhesive pad that comes with the mount seems to be good quality. I also mounted it low against the front of the shifter console for leverage so all the weight isn't on the adhesive. Further, the round base of the ball is flexible which helps. I followed the instructions and didn't put any attachments on it for 24 hours

As far as removal, I haven't tried yet. But a few videos I've watched say to apply a bit of heat from a hair dryer to get it off.

Time will tell, but I think it will hold up.
