Just Installed Katzkin Leather Seats on my Tacoma

I saw you were installing these yourself. Have you received them? Was it a tough install? Any pictures of the final product?

I’m considering doing it myself as well but would love to have a little more information on the 2024 installs.

Haven’t tackled it yet.. I’m planning to start in early August. And will post a new detailed thread. I have received them and the Quality looks and feels fantastic.

Did you order directly from Katzkin? My quote came in $500 more with a similar design :/

I had Katzkin seats installed a few months back and initially they looked great. But I noticed the front seat was showing wear really quickly and then after a 4 hr road trip w a 170 lb passenger the rear pass seat looked like this.

Anyone ever see anything like this before?. Katzkin is warranting the seat bottoms, but I’m curious as to why/how this occurred.

You can see in the 2nd photo that the driver rear looks fine still, though no one has ridden over there yet.

A couple more…front pass side seat. 2nd pic is right after install. 1st is 3 months later.
A faulty set of Katzkin leather maybe? Never heard of that, but curious if anyone else has.

Looks great, I just picked up my TRD OR on Sunday. I got the Dealership to throw in the Katzkin leather in the deal and I'm meeting with the local installer to design and order the covers. I wasn't sire about doing the white stitching for contrast but seeing your photos convinced me I should. My only concern is that it might discolor/stain down the road.

that white thread will darken , i went with black thread on charcoal . I used leatherseats.com on my RS5 . also did 100% leather , which i found out they use a higher/thicker grade of leather (stock leather seats are only leather where you actually sit) the rest of the seat is vinyl
both Katzen & leatherseats..com use the same leather supplier. my installer had both leather swatches from each vendor . exactly the same . I found a installer 1st & then decided on the supplier they were most comfortable with using the Franzini Bros outta San Rafael Cali

I only did the front seats , I got dogs so i got back vinyl seat covers that match

I will but it is in the tint / wrap shop till in the morning , been there all weekend getting a wrap & tints Going two tone
I used black threads on charcoal with no piping.
