Apparently my 24 Tacoma off-road is sitting on a lot in GA and for some reason Toyota isn't shipping them to consumers?

Just talked to my dealer and he has no idea why Toyota isn't releasing them to us. Any ideas or theories on what's going on? Mine is listed as sold but still sitting there!

If they are on a lot in GA it is more that likely SETs port and they are waiting for the distributor to add port options to them before getting to the dealers. Also there is a shortage of truck drivers these days and that adds to the bottleneck.

I’m from Bloomington IL where they make Rivians. They have a couple thousand sitting on the State Farm Corporate lot there. Say that they cannot get any train box cars to transport. I’m sure it’s a similar story there.

Partly. The other reason is they are not selling- Rivians that is. Just saw a report on CNBC. Unfortunately, I doubt Rivian will make it through mid next year the way they are burning through cash. Similar to Fisker. I almost bought a Launch R1T. If it had launched with NACS or Tesla"s charging system I would have. The CCS system was a huge debacle effectively ensuring that people did not feel safe road tripping a non tesla EV.

That's a shame, I was looking at the Rivian for my first truck last year but the entry price and the lack of range for a vehicle I planned to take off road was just not there along with the concerns about the company being able to stay alive long enough to support any warranty claims.

Well since this is a Rivian thread now....it would be nice if Tesla bought them and dropped their architect into it but kept the same body style...maybe some tweaks to the headlights.
