@Sagebrush -- thanks for this. i decided to go this route and my son printed the mount you posted. looking at the CAtuned video for installing the twin, it looks pretty straightforward. just one question -- is the wiring harness that is included with the single compressor long enough to get over...
here is my log -- the thing that surprised me is that the mpg basically is exactly the same as when i drove it off the lot. table is mileage/gallons/mpg for that fill up

@Lets_Taco_Bout_It -- hard to see how an extra 600 lbs curb weight is leading to a 7 mpg deduction. maybe, i guess. is your vin in the transmission TSB? (mine is). there has been some correlation between unexplained low mpg and transmission issues. just a guess. probably not. but it is out there.
i have logged every fill up since i bought it in august. now at 5K+ miles. a mix of highway, country, gravel, and 4x4 roads. across all of that I have averaged 23.0 mpg. OR hybrid. i took off the front dam. i think that cost me about 1 mpg.
take the foot off the pedal and the gas engine typically turns off (when in 2H) and the electric motor is never on when the foot is off the pedal. at that point, no power is being transferred to the drive train. so the second oil pump is electric powered.
bumping this tread for anyone watching --
so the OEM compressor that comes with the TH is available -- there are a few in shops around the country. but it is $1250 for the part and an unknown amount to install -- maybe another $800. too much.
seems crazy to have 2400W available in the bed and...
no, i use the inverter to charge my 1000Whr power station (that then runs my camp system). the inverter delivers more watts than the battery is rated for charging -- at around 1300W. so i go from from 0 to 80% charge in about 30 minutes. not that i ever get to zero. it is just super easy to keep...
i have been thinking the same thing. it looks like it can.

so the Trailhunter has air compressor built in. it does not look like this is an option for adding to other hybrids. am i wrong?
instead of going the 12V route, i was thinking of trying to use the 120V inverter? are there any lightweight options in the 120V systems?
the overland rig attached to the bed rails will come in at around 500 lbs. Will probably have another 250 lbs of junk in the bed. So, say, 750 lbs total in the bed area. anyone have thoughts on whether bed stiffeners would be needed?

steps to figure out if your VIN is in the TSB.
1. your VIN is an exact match to the letters and numbers to the left of the "#" in the TSB list
2. your VIN has a number to the right of the "#" that is less than the number in the matched line found in 1.
if you can do both 1. and 2., your VIN is...
super impressed with Sheldon. i opened the video to watch the tacoma issues section and ended up watching most of it. exactly what a company looks for in a chief engineer -- super smart, knows the specs, knows the product inside and out, can easily talk through design tradeoffs.
if i read the owner's manual right, the start button ONLY powers up the hybrid system (traction battery system). i don't have any control as to when/if the engine turns on/off. i have only been driving it for a week, but typically, no, the engine does not start until i shift into drive and press...
