I had the same issue, I think they're shipping out mats for the previous gen, and no one has caught the issue yet. If you request a return, they will tell you to "destroy it" and give an automatic refund. It's funny, your truck has the exact same look as mine, improper bed mat, tonneau cover and...
I did my first change at 2k miles and was surprised to see a bit of physical particulates dripping into the drain pan when removing the filter. Not so much from main oil pan drain itself. At $35 in materials plus perhaps the investment in a torque wrench, I think it's a worthwhile endeavor...Or...
Yep- this one just takes a bit of time and patience. First thing, don't be like me, make sure you have the proper cover on the proper side- the zipper should be on the side of the center console, away from view of the rear door. Second, raise the seats up as high and as far back as they can go...
Yes, normal for OEM parts to not come with instructions for the end-user. I replied to another user earlier in this thread: Look up Youtube for installation videos on the newer Tundra OEM cover. They are exactly the same with a few minor differences- The Tundra cover has you stuffing a foam...
1) No BUT look up Youtube for installation videos on the newer Tundra OEM cover. They are exactly the same with a few minor differences- The Tundra cover has you stuffing a foam piece near the edge of the bed as Step 1, skip this step. The included foam for the Tacoma OEM kit is for the part of...
Sorry guys- didn't mean to stir the pot here. I do genuinely appreciate the viewpoints as I'd only been recommended one of these plugs recently. To be honest, I searched for quite a while and only came across 2 "larger" failures, none on a Tacoma, where it seems part of the material had worn off...
I searched quite a bit for negative stories on these things, outside of over-torqueing it seems like people have found them quite useful and robust, especially those of who change oil more frequently. My gut reaction to initially learning about these was they did indeed seem like a high...
Minor question, but looking to replace the drain plug with a Fumoto or Stahlbus after my first oil change. Anyone done this yet? Is the drain plug the same as all the other modern Toyota vehicles (M12 x 1.25mm)?
Fumoto website seems to think so, but the Toyota part for 2024 drain plug is...
Just installed the cover, works great, only a few minor differences when following the Tundra install videos. I would check around the prices of your local dealer to order for pickup, I was able to get my OEM/MX4 6ft for $1050. The part number is PT954-35241
It's hard to tell from those photos, but the new Tundra covers which look very similar, do indeed lower the rails. Definitely the main drawback of these low-profile style covers.
I read somewhere that the new OEM covers for the new gen tundra and taco are essentially rebranded MX4 (which checks out if you look up the Tundra install videos), which would be nice as my local dealers sell the OEM for around $1k. I actually just received an email that my OEM 6ft cover is...
It sounds like a pressure relief of some sort to me, I think a sneeze is a perfect description. I get it twice, usually within 5 to 30 minutes of turning the truck off. I looked it up briefly when I was initially concerned, and I think the tundra does this as well- it's part of the emissions...
"Must have" - For some people I know who have had their car vandalized in secure garages, I think it's a great solution for those who don't want to make a visit to the local audio installation shop for wiring. Price vs convenience also definitely becomes a consideration here.
I know the Viofo...
Toyota went pretty conservative with the bump stops this time around, I’ve noticed it too. I’m no expert in suspension but you can easily feel it if you find an aggressive speed bump and hit it over 20mph. I also recall a video where one of the YouTubers was beating on their stock TRDOR and...
Is that diagram from the TIS? I thought about signing up for an account but wasn't sure if all the 4th gen documentation was online. Is the full service manual available to download?
That said, when ordering most products that are manufactured from Realtruck, their shipping and turnaround times can be blazing fast, I've had items <48 hrs from placing the order. Unfortunately it seems like most custom accessories for the 4G are backordered/delayed on a weekly basis.
...and for that mats, if it's the 3D Maxpider (the only custom fit mats that seem to be listed), your order will be cancelled soon as there is no ETA from the manufacturer.
