Mine does the same, im in 4x4 a lot this time of year. Dealer checked once last winter but difficult to replicate so im going to revisit this issue in the new year when I book in my recall fix on the brake hoses and a couple other outstanding issues.
Maybe it's our lovely -40c Alberta winters...
They haven't done anything since initial inspection. As we are in the winter months now it is very difficult to diagnose so we agreed to re-visit in the spring. I'm still waiting to get my outstanding recalls completed.
2024 Sport Premium, going into second winter in Northern Alberta, no issues at all. Plug it in below -20c recommended or like most vehicles it might get cranky.
Newer models use 75W synthetic product for the t case. I confirmed this with the shop lead at my dealer.
Toyota has a lock on this product, no aftermarket option available in Canada.
It's not likely a serp belt issue, I think it's transmission related. I keep monitoring mine and it's getting more common but still can't nail it down. Hopefully Toyota will have a TSB and a fix soon.
I have the tri fold soft top, works well except it takes a few minutes to remove if you need to use the full box which sometimes is a pain since you need to have tools handy.
Mine does this when cold in the a.m. or after sitting for a few hours but then it goes away.
Haven't brought it up with my dealer yet but I will at my next service.
Your mileage will improve around 5000km or 3000 miles and even more after that, just be patient, that little 2.4 is tight and if you have auto transmission it is still in learning mode. I have 32,000 km on my 2024 Sport Premium and it's getting 24 mpg hwy and 20 mpg city consistently
