  1. Engine pulley/serpentine belt chirping noise

That's exactly the sound I'm talking about! Within the first few seconds two chirping sounds.
  2. Engine pulley/serpentine belt chirping noise

The noise in my truck is present even with the AC and cabin ventilation turned off.
  3. Engine pulley/serpentine belt chirping noise

Yes, it is completely random.. It is most noticeable at speeds under 100km/h. I can't hear it at higher speeds likely due to road noise
  4. 2024 Tacoma Engine Chirping

I suspected it was an idiot tech or they simply chose not to identify it. I went for a drive with a guy from the service department and even though the noise was very minimal on the short drive he claimed that he couldn't hear it.
  5. 2024 Tacoma Engine Chirping

I have something similar but much quieter. Did you figure out the problem?
  6. Engine pulley/serpentine belt chirping noise

I have a bit over 35,000km on my Tacoma and since about 29,000 I have heard an intermittent chirping sound. I've taken it to the dealer twice and they said they couldn't find anything wrong nor could they hear anything. There are times when this sound is very quiet and occasionally it is...
  7. So does the Toyota app that costs $15 work as a "find my truck" if stolen ?

My understanding is that even if you don't pay for the app they still collect your telematics. I asked about this at the dealership where I got my Tacoma.
  8. 1 Year Ownership Review

I agree with you about the seat belt alarm being annoying. For me it is not an issue since I always use my seat belt. It is nice though if a passenger is slow to put on a seatbelt, and the alarm prompts them. Most of the driver aids are unnecessary. Give me a back up camera and that is plenty...
  9. Clunk when engaging 4H

I've noticed a clunk as well, but only if the car is moving. I've resolved to only go in and out of 4H with the car stationary. I'm not surprised if there is a clunk since switching from 2H to 4H means changing the drive train configuration.
  10. Honda vs. Toyota

At the moment I own both a Honda and my Taco. I was loyal to Honda for years, but I now suspect that loyalty has reached it’s limit for the following reasons… Each year Honda has fewer models with manual transmissions and each generation of cars regardless of transmission looks more bland. I...
  11. Thoughts on the 2024 Tacoma after 17,000km

I like your description of the transmission. "Sloppy." This transmission has essentially the same feel as an early 90s VW.
  12. Thoughts on the 2024 Tacoma after 17,000km

Comfort was great! Gas mileage from what I recall was about 11.5L/100km
  13. Things that should be standard no-brainer things Toyota didn't do for all Trim levels

The thing I've noticed about my Tacoma is that it doesn't have features which 5 years ago other cars did. The most annoying thing for me is the fact that I can't use keyless entry to open the tailgate. My little old Honda lets me unlock the trunk just like the doors... keyless.
  14. Thoughts on the 2024 Tacoma after 17,000km

11.8L/100km at the moment. It was a bit less earlier this year but my driving habits have changed a bit. I also put it in sport mode every single time.
  15. Thoughts on the 2024 Tacoma after 17,000km

This guy offers a "fresh" much needed perspective.
  16. Video: Why the peasantry HATE the 2024 Tacoma 4th gen

This guy offers a "fresh" much needed perspective.
  17. Thoughts on the 2024 Tacoma after 17,000km

I'm planning on performing oil changes every 6200miles. I think Toyota is a bit crazy recommending oil changes every 16,000km/10,000 miles. I have a Honda with 170,000 miles for which I've only been changing oil every 8,000 miles (when the oil left is less than 10% according to the car) or so...
  18. Thoughts on the 2024 Tacoma after 17,000km

Thanks for the info about phone frequencies! Perhaps it is my phone as it is already a few years old.
  19. Thoughts on the 2024 Tacoma after 17,000km

Watching all these YouTube videos and seeing reddit comments hating on the 4th gen I too suspected that a lot of this must have been people purposely trying to undermine the 4th gen reputation for the gain of other manufacturers. I agree with your thoughts on 3gen owners wanting to justify their...
  20. Thoughts on the 2024 Tacoma after 17,000km

I was thinking of putting 10,000 miles instead, but I figured that the group we have here was more than capable of handling km lol
