My understanding is that even if you don't pay for the app they still collect your telematics. I asked about this at the dealership where I got my Tacoma.
I agree with you about the seat belt alarm being annoying. For me it is not an issue since I always use my seat belt. It is nice though if a passenger is slow to put on a seatbelt, and the alarm prompts them.
Most of the driver aids are unnecessary. Give me a back up camera and that is plenty...
I've noticed a clunk as well, but only if the car is moving. I've resolved to only go in and out of 4H with the car stationary. I'm not surprised if there is a clunk since switching from 2H to 4H means changing the drive train configuration.
At the moment I own both a Honda and my Taco. I was loyal to Honda for years, but I now suspect that loyalty has reached it’s limit for the following reasons…
Each year Honda has fewer models with manual transmissions and each generation of cars regardless of transmission looks more bland. I...
The thing I've noticed about my Tacoma is that it doesn't have features which 5 years ago other cars did. The most annoying thing for me is the fact that I can't use keyless entry to open the tailgate. My little old Honda lets me unlock the trunk just like the doors... keyless.
11.8L/100km at the moment. It was a bit less earlier this year but my driving habits have changed a bit. I also put it in sport mode every single time.
I'm planning on performing oil changes every 6200miles. I think Toyota is a bit crazy recommending oil changes every 16,000km/10,000 miles. I have a Honda with 170,000 miles for which I've only been changing oil every 8,000 miles (when the oil left is less than 10% according to the car) or so...
Watching all these YouTube videos and seeing reddit comments hating on the 4th gen I too suspected that a lot of this must have been people purposely trying to undermine the 4th gen reputation for the gain of other manufacturers. I agree with your thoughts on 3gen owners wanting to justify their...
I've tried two different generations of iphones. Same issue with both. I would set them up for the car to recognize them, they would connect and then randomly while driving they would disconnect. It became extremely annoying.
Merry Christmas everyone!
I’ve been a lurker for a while and finally decided to create an account. I know that at least one person has posted about their experience with a new 2024 Tacoma before, but I would like to give my thoughts as I have a bit of a different perspective.
Let’s deal with...
