I have the Mickeys in 35x12.5 and I would say yours looks good the way it is. If you go any bigger you would want to PPF the rear end or deal with rock chips, also, the 4th gen doesn't need re-gearing with 35s.

Thanks for the compliment! I'm just going to keep things as they are until I need to replace my tires in the future. I'll revisit the issue again then. For now, I've very satisfied. Can't wait to test my rig setup with my overlanding trip to the Grand Canyon next week.

Many thanks for the pics! Hmm now I’m thinking maybe I should do a +18 offset since there’s barely any poke with +25. You think that should do the trick or would it poke too much? I only want about a half inch outside of fender. Thinking either the Method 316 or 701. Only thing is I’d have to go with an 18 inch wheel instead of 17. Gonna go with your tires, Nitto Grapplers but it looks like for an 18inch I’d have to get an E rated ply. Wonder if they’ll be too loud.Here are some front and back pics of the driver side. Now that I look at these it looks like both front and back are flush with the outermost fender.

Looking at it down the side I didn’t think there was much poke either, hit a muddy road and it was flying all over! The level puts into a little better perspective.

If you want to run 285/75 R17 ridge grapplers with some poke, I would personally buy some +12 or +0 offset wheels. You can see why in the videos below:
1. TRDJon used RRW 17x 8 wheels with a +12 offset. He shows just a little but noticeable amount of poke. See mins 0:41 - 2:32
2. Jeff at Westcott used method 307 17 x 8.5 +0 offset. See mins 1:02 - 1:14
Another Westcott vid with two different setups. See mins 0:00 - 4:10 for +0 offset. See mins 9:40 - 10:56 for a method 305 +25 offset wheel with 32 x 12.5 R17 recon grapplers. There's a quick visual comparison of both options at the end.

Interesting. I also have 8.5 wheels but with 285/75 R17 tires. At least for the ridge grapplers, the width difference is only about 0.24 inches (285/75 = 11.26 inches 11.26 vs. 285/70 = 11.50 inch). Not sure how you have more poke than my setup. Do you have a TRD Offroad trim? Do you have stock suspension? Also, I wonder if the new upper control arms I installed had an impact on poke. Anyone know?+25 offset, 8.5inch rim width, 285/70R17 tires

Well the level doesn’t lie! The only difference is the OP’s tires are 1/4 narrower. The math is simple, +55 - +25 = 3cm or 1.2 inches, my wheels are 8.5 inches wide, factory is 7.5 inches wide, this pushes the wheel out another 1/2 inch. VS OEM this set up pushes the wheel and tire out an additional 1.7 inches, now add a tire that is 8 tenths of an inch wider than OEM pushing the width out another 4tenths for a total of 2.1 inches wider than OEM. UCA’s make no difference.
