So who is running rear door speakers rated at 2.7 ohm with the factory
JBL OEM package.

WHat's your experience so far, any distortion....etc.
Was the install worth it, can you actually hear them ?

Well, Toyota, in their infinite wisdom, reduced the output of the rear speakers from the headunit through the amp. Swapping speakers won’t do much, if anything. Doesn’t matter what the ohm load is of the new speakers.

The only way to increase rear speaker output is to set the fader to more rear. If that cuts the power too much, install the Beatsonic amp to raise it back up.

What @The Dude said. The rear speakers were broken on purpose by the head unit outputs Toyota/JBL selected.

There are basically two solutions. As @wire4money said you can boost the output and increase the levels to the rear speakers with fade, or just give up and install a real system that can be tuned to work as it should. Then it would be time to see if the speakers are as bad as the electronics and maybe replace them too. For now the OEM stuff boosted with a Beat Sonic is getting me by, but a better sound system is probably in my future.

I just completely replaced my home theater/stereo equipment and I never considered anything made by JBL, a company I once liked. So producing inferior products has its costs and JBL should never have put their name of this system IMO.
