Went to the tire shop today to get some 275/70/r17 rubitreks put on the new SCS wheels on my off road Unwantingly was told they would be too tight and would likely be nailing the truck when hitting any bumps.
He showed me at full lock there was only about a fingers worth of space between the tire and mud flap / fender / crash bar.
I find this interesting because of multiple videos they show about two fingers worth of clearance there with this size tire, thus not needing to modify a thing without any fitment issues.
Yet I just spent time scouring YouTube and found two videos where two other guys show that you need to remove the crash bar to get the 285/70 to fit ..
Is there variance/ quality assurance issues happening here or what am I missing? Was really hoping to drive home with the new shoes but not really looking to jeopardize insurance issues or emergency tire removal to the groin surgery if there's an accident and I don't have a crash bar there ....
