Personally I feel this truck is "twitchy" on its own without out the lift if you ask me. I guess I've been driving traditional hydraulic steering for a number of years, and while Toyota is doing a great job of emulating hydraulic steering, I can tell this thing is electronic.
Honestly, My last two vehicles have had EPS, but the Tacoma definitely took some getting used to.

Not enough toe causes twitchiness.
Not enough toe in also causes the push he described. Have played with toe a lot on my track toy. The straight line twitchiness right off center, along with the push at slower speeds is usually not enough toe in.
