The problem is the kit you bought. It requires you to use an add a fuse. And you may have plugged into a fuse that does turn on even while the truck is off.

The other kits just plug directly into the DRL and turn signal harness. Only turns on when those are on. No issues with random on/offs.

search for the trumgeta install video.
Question...I don't see where Trumgeta sells the lights. Any suggestions.

Thanks....was really interested in the comment from ejosesa in regards to the wiring setup and no fuse required.
He's talking about something like this. It's just a way to tap into an existing circuit in the fuse box w/o having to cut or splice any wiring.

The issue we've all found is that the truck has some sort of logic that wakes up randomly to perform some routine and no matter which fuse you tap into the lights will come on for a minute or two. IMHO it's not a big deal but if it bugs you then you have to find somewhere to tap into for power, thus splicing into the low beam wiring or something equivalent.

I'd rather not do that so in my case I'm running all my extraneous power needs from a separate gang switched fuse panel. Overkill unless you're planning on a lot of accessories, but then that's me.... ;o)

Thanks for the explanation Dan. I have tried both the IJN and IGN and you are correct the lights to come on occasionally. The only thing I have noticed is the lights do not turn off after a few minutes. I am currently tapped into the IGN fuse. Which one are you using?

I'm also using the IGN fuse to trigger my gang fuse panel, but when I turn off the truck the gang fuse panel completely shuts down and won't come back on until I manually power it back on so I don't have the problem.

I am surprised that your lights stay on though. Indefinitely or just more than a few minutes and then turn off?

Is there a way to ensure the fuse panel completely shuts down? Maybe mine is not?

Correct, my fuse panel eliminates the issue, or at least masks it.

I would think if your truck wasn't operating properly you would have all sorts of electrical problems, primarily things like the battery dying within a day or two.

My lights come on occasionally and then turn off, I have a hybrid, no big deal. My lights are wired on a jumper fuse tap (see photo)
