Are rock rails bed length specific? Why yes they are…learning the hard way.

just a heads up and fyi…I guess. Looks like I’ll be putting the rails up for sale soon.

I just finished pulling the rock rails from my old, now my daughter’s 24 Tacoma with a 5’ bed. I figured as they mount to the frame there shouldn’t be a difference in fitment. Turns out, it looks like there is Because the frame holes don’t seem to align. there are 3 holes at the back end of the 5’bed frame for the rails to mount to and there’s only 1 hole at the back of the frame on the 6’ bed truck.

I discovered that specific fit is required as well. Initially, my plan was to add the powered retractable steps, but after seeing that they were only available for DCs it became apparent that my choices were going to be rather limited. The ones I ordered from Toyota may be the only ones made to fit my truck at this time.
