I bought my 24 Taco off road a couple of weeks ago. After about a week I noticed a rubbing metal on metal sound when I had my windows down and was driving past a building, can't hear it at all with the windows up. I ended up taking it back to the dealership. They diagnosed it and told me the backing plate was warped and it was rubbing on the rotor and scored it. They are going to replace the backing plate, rotor and pads on that wheel under warranty. Has anyone else had this happen? Did I just get a weird one off problem?

Did you brake hard during the break-in period?
Nothing that I felt was hard. Not hard enough to set off the dash cam or the accident avoidance thing. It's only got 350 miles on it so far, less than 200 when I noticed the rubbing sound. I've tried pretty hard to baby it, keep my distance so I don't have to brake hard, not accelerate hard, that kind of thing. I'll admit some of that is because I'm trying to get used to driving a truck again after driving a kia forte for 10 years.
