Thanks for the follow-up. The primary feature that I'm looking for is being able to use it w/ the bed rack like the OP has done. While there do seem to be some disadvantages of the retractable cover, if other options don't allow for rack integration, it wouldn't be a good fit for my purposes.
The Revolver X4TS is good example of a hard roll up cover that has integrated t-slot rails. As mentioned the advantage to that set up is you don't lose bed space to the canister that holds the retractable cover.

Our racks also work great under sit-on-top covers as well as Diamondback covers. You'll have to excuse the Gladiator pictures, they are the best picture I have showing the X4TS cover.

was my main concern as well because a rack is eventually going on my sport. Both the Pro and the Bak X4TS I bought have T slot rails. I just have to make sure said rack will clear my roll up at the cab section, depending on the rack slope.
