Last I heard anything about Bilstein’s development was a post in April. Has anyone heard when they are going to release their 4G taco lineup? I was thinking SEMA would have news but I can’t find anything.

They already make the OEM Bilstein with their "ESCV" valving and external reservoir. My TRD OR has them and they are good. I'm not an off road hobbyist with vehicles but am off road often with trail work. They are good for bigger hits and bumps same time they're good for highway use.

Bilstein also manufactures the Old Man Emu shocks for the Trail Hunter option. Likely Bilstein will have a licensing agreement with Toyota to not sell these to the aftermarket for some time- this is just my assumption

Yeah, the OR has Bilsteins which makes me wonder even more why there isn’t a full line of models available. Clearly they’ve spent time with Toyota developing an OEM part and getting all the geometry stuff figured out.

ARB out of Australia makes Old Man Emu, which is also why the Tacoma has a bunch of ARB accessories. ARB just announced at SEMA the upcoming release of a bunch of new parts for the 4G taco. They have also said that the rear bumper is only available from Toyota though. However, I believe the shocks on the TH will be available from normal retailers.

I contacted Bilstein and they told me that the summer of 2025 is when they plan to launch the Tacoma 2024 suspension systems. I specifically asked about the 5100s.

Have a look at the emu Tacoma shocks… one will notice who manufactures it… rumor has it: bilstein = licensing agreement between emu and bilstein

Wunderbar!! That’s excellent. I’ll have to be patient, but at least we know. Thanks for this.

I guess I shouldn’t be surprised if they are made in another company’s facility. I did find a reference to Monroe’s factory. It’s weird how deep these rabbit holes can go with who-makes-what.

Monroe is a huge OE supplier for the manufacturers!

Better late than never? Probably worth the wait? 5160/6112…

What will be the benefits of the 5100s? I think I read that the 5100s on the 3rd gen gave a bit of a lift. Is that true? How much?

The 5100 and the 6110 could potentially increase ride height by up to 2.5” (5100) or 2.75” (6110) through adjustable circlips and spring changes.
