So I’m currently mocking up a way to install the cali raised LED light bar on the heritage grille. The diode dynamics seems to be the most budget friendly option however I do not like the gaps it has.
I know there is a ton of mixed feelings and reviews on Cali raised but I’ve had good experiences with them so since their lights are decent enough quality for me (I’m on pavement 90% of the time) I figured I would give it a try.
so to fit the bar I had to get creative with the mounting solution
So the light bar is just a bit too wide and if you wanted to use to mounting holes you would need to notch the grille. I wanted to avoid tampering with the grille, and I wanted to make sure you could not see any parts of the mount from the front (OCD yeah).
So this allows you to mount it now to the holes on the grille using the second part of the bracket.
The "L" style tabs I'm going to print high res from PA6-CF which is a carbon fiber filled nylon. This will be able to handle heat and have a high enough tensile strength that I won't be worried about it breaking on me as long as its printed correctly with proper adhesion.
From the front, this light bar does sit pretty well inside the grille.
I'm going to use send cut send to make the larger bracket portion from stainless and have it powder coated and then I can mount it up and make sure this thing clears the grille shutters.
If anyone is interested in going this route I'll probably sell the brackets and L tabs to anyone that wants for 35-40 just depends what price I get the stainless powder coated brackets for.
Thanks for coming to my ted talk
