Dashboard headunit storage box - Worth the buy

Bought this bad boy and finally arrived today. For $40 it's a great product if you have small objects you'd like to lay around while you drive.

Perfect for my vape and wallet, which was my biggest pain in the when driving as I find the door storage not so good and laying it around the shifter sometimes inhabited my ability to shift gears.

It's a 3D printed model, so it's rough around the edges in some spots but nothing a little sanding wouldn't fix. The rubber inserts are of good quality and work well, as does the 3M tape and felt padding.

It's a snug fit, meaning no rattle although on the sides there is a little gap, which doesn't bother me but might for some.

All in all worth the buy for me, figured I'd share it for those who hasn't seen it yet. I'll leave a link below as well.

Also, doesn't fit the bigger screens, only the 8", which should be common sense, but obviously wasn't to one reviewer lol.

The Alberta way of living man lol. Every new vehicle, especially trucks up here got a windshield split, just as well they come as a dealer add-on lol. Too many rocks on the road and too many aholes with negative offset and no madflaps to cover. Too expensive to replace and just have a new split a month later.

True! I was quoted $1200CAD and a month waiting on backorder. Realized it's not worth it as I'll just instantly get another split again.

A split in a windshield up my way just shows you're actually driving your vehicle and it's not a driveway princess lol

How true! I can’t believe some places have things such as glass insurance. Here a windshield isn’t quite an oil change, but certainly more often than tires.

I feel the center console is a little cluttered, the tilted phone area is not the best imo. So you don't have that catch-all area under the radio that the 3rd gen had.

For your little items I'd say yes. There are a few places to store but they're inconvenient in my opinion. The door storage area is quite big and easy to reach into when driving but I try to avoid any door rattle with the JBL system.

Plus, what's more storage?

i got one off amazon when i 1st got my tacoma Nov '24 But it was cheaper than this & has 4 brass threaded holes on the top lip of the tray 4 mounting what ever . haven't found anything to mount there yet but it is nice to know i have a option to do it without drilling the dash board.
mine is mostly covered by a felt dash board cover (cuts out the reflected glare at night) protecting dash from sun damage .Mostly I like the tray as it supports the display & it fills in a area that would just collect dirt ,dust behind that 8" display.

looks stock once in place , actually was the 1st thing i bought when i got home with my new truck

FYI Muslogy does have these for the 14" screens now. They just gave one away in our FB group actually. I have one to test and it has a small gap as OP has shown but I gave them the feedback and they are working on it!
