Driver side storage cubby side lantern kit

Toyota finally released this to the public and I was able to get me one. I wanted to fill/make use of the empty cubby storage on the driver side of the dash. Check them out!

I just wish they come standardized with the truck when buying them off the lot. Weird how the 6th gen 4Runners have them but we don’t, oh well.

OEM don't look brighter to me
not with a frosted lens ( brighter in the short throw but not as visible from a long distance) & the HD one is designed to be placed in different orientations , hang from a hook , place on fender , roof ect
with more led lights that projects from both the edges & from the top
HD $10.oo vs OEM part $130.oo 🫤
yeah choices do matter

I’m a retired Trooper we would run flare lines at accidents for a half mile walking down the road carrying a lit flare to light the others. The real protip was to lean another unlit flare near the bottom of a lit flare this way we could get 40 minutes without relighting. I’m not sure kids today would know what road flares are lol.

I just had this delivered, had too wait a couple of weeks. It certainly is an expensive little lamp, but I like it a lot for whatever that’s worth. Fits right in the spot and I’ll find excuses for it.
