Aloha all, I have a TRD ORP 6 MT and I absolutely love the transmission. I don’t understand why there would be a sports,
Eco or normal mode with a manual transmission but whatever. On some YouTube videos I’ve seen individuals change the driving mode from eco to sport. My HUD always says “eco” in green, but when I try to depress my “drive mode” select switch it s deactivated because it does not physically depress. So I can not change drive modes like I’ve heard or seen others do. Not that it’s a big deal with the 6MT but I’d like to know if I have a faulty, stuck switch. Does anyone else have the same experience as I?

It changes your pedal mapping to answer your first question, sport mode is MUCH more touchy with the throttle and it seems like the turbo spools faster.

That said you don't depress anything to change your drive mode, it's the dial that's built in with your 4wd switch, there's two dials on that knob, the one to switch between 4wd and 2wd and the larger dial to switch between eco, normal, and sport.

If you've been stuck in eco all this time, you're in for an absolute treat once you get it into sport. Eco sucks for throttle response and I've never noticed better fuel milage at all.

Thank you so much. I haven’t noticed that 2nd dial. I will test it out tomorrow and let you know. Much appreciated!!!

Glad to help, they don't do a great job at indicating the second dial, if it wasn't for the countless of videos I've watched before purchasing I never would've seen it either. Enjoy!

Wow. I can’t believe the difference between the eco mode and the sport mode for this 6MT. You’re right - after putting my first 1.200 miles on this new taco in eco mode it was a big treat. I’m loving this truck even more now. I’m surprised I couldn’t figure out that driving mode selector for the life of me. Thanks again!
