For those who don't know my story (it's buried in another thread), I should have had my truck in late September. I don't know all the details, but according to the tracking system, it was on the hauler headed to the dealership. However, it never arrived. It turns out it was damaged either at the port or while being loaded onto the hauler. Bottom line: it was deemed unsellable.

If I had been willing to switch to a completely different model, color, etc., I might have had a truck by now. Instead, I was given the next available production slot, which was this past Monday. While the wait has been frustrating, there have been some advantages. For one, if delivery happens in January as estimated, I’ll save significantly on taxes since it will be a 2024 model registered in 2025. Secondly, I was able to configure the truck exactly as I wanted.

With the first truck, I had to request a color change to Supersonic Red. This time, the truck was already red. It came with all-weather mats, which I asked to have deleted since I already bought mats for the first truck (which, of course, never arrived). The interior was originally black, but I requested Boulder Gray, as I’m tired of black interiors after decades of having them. Lastly, I added the bed scene lighting. The price is ridiculous, but since it’s only available as a port-installed option (PIO) at the moment, I figured, “Why not?” and asked for it. All of my requests were approved.

As of Monday, the truck has already been built. Today, I got an email from the dealer saying it’s in Veracruz, waiting to be loaded onto the ship. I’ll take that as good news! I think I’ll contact the dealer and ask them not to reach out again until the truck is sitting on their lot.

More to follow...

Noice! Grats dude I know you have been waiting a very long time. When I first popped in here and was between the ZR2 and Tacoma. You were already waiting and now I have 1,800 miles on my Tacoma.
Grats sir - can't wait to see the pics!

Congrats.
I have a VTN and Schedule for Production Status from my dealer, hoping mine gets built before the 2025 cut off.

Transit damage is more common than people think. It's a grey area selling a brand new vehicle that has had paint and body work performed on it.

I'm sure some forum members can share a story or two.
