I have been meh on the front bumpers out so far. They are well designed and well made and its a personal preference thing. My history is Land Cruisers with Bull Bar, Sahara or other bumpers that provide full front protection. I know that can effect the airbags.
Most of the dings on my bumpers from wheeling in the front are in the corners from going up obstacles. The current crop uses the stock corners and stock edges.
If there is an impact in the corner, it can do a lot of body damage.
I like this new ARB one that isn't out yet. Are there others like this with the full front protection?
Many obstacles I comes to you have to get one tire up and then the other. The low clearance of the Taco bumper corner would have scraped here
almost 20 years ago, my daughter borrowed my 80 series Land Cruiser and was sitting at a red light and two cars smacked into each other in the intersection and only scratched my bumper which tore a seam down the car as it slide past. My wife was sold on armor then and never complained when I put bumpers on my vehicles or my daughters after that. I would have had significant body damage without that bumper. Plus it has protected me over many trails.
I had one on every land cruiser including my current 200 series
Like I said, I have been and still am a Land Cruiser guy who now also owns a Taco. I almost bought the RCI bumper as I liked the build and it is local, but just couldnt get over the lack of full protection.
The current crop of bumpers look beefy and well designed. It is a personal preference thing.
Are there other bumpers out there that provide the full front protection while improving the clearance in the corners?
